What is SimCapture Cloud Remote OSCE?
SimCapture Cloud Remote OSCE enables organizations to deliver clinical exams online through a secure, browser-based platform. Learners, standardized patients (SPs), and proctors interact in real time, complete structured exam steps, and record encounters—all within a single system.
Before You Begin
Requirements Checklist:
- Browser: Google Chrome only
- Device: Desktop or laptop (no mobile/tablet)
- Camera & Microphone: Required
- Network: Minimum 1.2 Mbps (wired recommended)
System Limits:
- Up to 30 virtual rooms
- Up to 2 monitors per room
How Remote OSCE Works
SimCapture Remote OSCE supports three roles:
- Learner → Completes the encounter
- Standardized Patient (SP) → Participates in the scenario
- Proctor → Manages and monitors sessions
Learner Workflow
Before the Session
- Access via My Courses
- Set up camera and microphone
During the Session
- View timer, video feeds, and EMR (if enabled)
- Interact with the SP
After the Session
- Click Stop Encounter to end the exam
- Complete evaluations
Standardized Patient (SP) Workflow
Before the Session
- Access via My Courses
- Set up camera and microphone
During the Session
- Interact with the learner
- View timer and session details
After the Session
- Return to the waiting room
SPs cannot end the encounter.
Proctor Workflow
Before the Exam
- Configure rooms, courses, and participants
During the Exam
- Start sessions (individually or in bulk)
- Monitor room status (connected/disconnected)
Monitoring
- Use the Monitor Interface to observe sessions
