This guide walks you through how to add and configure questions in your evaluation once your framework is set up.

Things to Know Before You Begin

• This functionality is only available to Administrative-level users.
• You must have an evaluation framework created before adding questions.

How to Add Questions

1. Navigate to your evaluation and scroll to the Evaluation Preview section.
2. Select Add Questions to begin building your evaluation.

You can choose from several question types, each with customizable options and media support.

Question Types Overview

1. Multiple Choice Questions

• Scoring: Only question type that supports point values.
• Fields:
  • Question Field: Enter your question.
  • Answer Fields: Add, remove, or reorder answer options.
  • Require More Details: Prompts users for additional input if selected.
  • Question Category: For reporting purposes.
  • Point Values: Assign positive or negative values.
  • Total Points: Set a max score (can be used for extra credit).
• Options:
  • Required
  • Add Hint Text
  • Multiple Answers Allowed
  • Maximum Answers Allowed
  • Randomize Answer Order
  • Answer Option Layout (horizontal/vertical)
  • Add Media
  • Move, Copy, Delete

2. USMLE Diagnosis Question

• Designed for Standardized Patient (SP) scenarios.
• Fields include:
  • Diagnosis
  • History Finding(s)
  • Physical Exam Finding(s)
• Options:
  • Character Limit (default: 100 per field)
  • Move, Copy, Delete

3. Information Field

• Used to provide instructions or context (e.g., patient background).
• Options:
  • Add Media
  • Move, Copy, Delete

4. Free Text Questions

Ideal for short answers, comments, or open-ended responses.

• Fields:
  • Question Field
  • Answer Field
  • Question Category
• Options:
  • Required
  • Add Hint Text
  • Multiple Lines Allowed
  • Character Limit (default: 950)
  • Mark as Comment (for feedback-only visibility)
  • Answer Layout (adjacent or below)
  • Add Media
  • Move, Copy, Delete

Using the Question Library

• Access the Question Library to reuse questions from other scenarios or evaluations.
• Preview selected questions before adding them to your current evaluation.

Previewing Your Evaluation

Toggle between BUILD and PREVIEW modes to:

• View the evaluation as a participant would see it.
• Return to editing as needed.
