The SimCapture Paging Station allows staff to communicate with learners and Standardized Patients across multiple rooms using a microphone and speaker or headset. You can page into one, multiple, or all rooms at once , while listening to only one room at a time .

Things to Know Before You Begin
- A microphone and headset or speakers must be enabled and registered on the computer before configuring the Paging Station.
- If audio devices are not configured, the application may appear frozen when opening the configuration menu.
- The Microsoft Store must be enabled to install the
.appxBundlefile, which includes a trusted signing certificate. - For installation assistance, contact Customer Support at 877‑LAERDAL (523‑7325) .
Getting Started with the Paging Station Application
- Open the SimCapture Paging Station application.
- Depending on your configuration, you may see multiple Groups and/or individual Rooms .
Paging by Group
Page all groups and rooms
- Select the All tile under Groups (it turns blue).
- Select and hold Push to Talk while speaking.
- De‑select the All tile to stop paging.
Page specific groups
- Select one or more group tiles.
- Select and hold Push to Talk to speak into those groups.
Paging by Room
Page specific rooms
- Select one or more room tiles.
- Select and hold Push to Talk while speaking.
Listen to a room
- Double‑click a room tile (it turns orange).
- Your headset or speakers will activate.
- You can speak into the room while listening.
Note: You can listen to only one room at a time , but you can page into multiple rooms simultaneously .
Managing Room Groupings
Select the Settings icon.
In Manage Groups :
- Create a group: Enter a name and select Add .
- Delete a group: Select a group from the dropdown and choose Delete .

Reassign rooms:
Select Manage Room Assignments , choose a group, and check or uncheck rooms.
Recommended Setup and Best Practices
- Use a dual‑monitor setup :
- One screen for the Paging Station app
- One screen for SimCapture
- Mute audio inside SimCapture , not at the operating system level, to prevent audio latency or feedback issues.
Reinstalling Software Paging for Additional Users
When a new user logs into the Paging Station computer, follow these steps to ensure the existing configuration is applied:
- Install the app using Simcapture_Paging_Station_0.1.9.msix .
- Open the app to verify installation (no rooms or groups should appear).
- Close the app.
- Copy the AudioModules.json file to:
C:\Users\<new user>\AppData\Local\Packages\ 3B3BA5EC-A97F-474B-83CB-E60EB06AE8FA_<character string>\LocalState\ - Replace the existing file (administrator rights required).
- Reopen the app and confirm that rooms and groups load correctly.
